Dan mccarthy

I’m Dan McCarthy, co-owner of Zanshin Martial Arts.

I started my Fitness journey in my 30s, and let me tell you, it’s never too late!

What started as post surgery rehab for an injured knee became a new adventure for me.

Our approach to fitness is holistic in nature: not just tossing around heavy weights. We want to help you not just be strong, but also flexible (not to mention we try to build these qualities in both Mind and Body). 

You can do training one-on-one or in a group. We can do in-person or online. There’s something for everyone: Strength, Endurance, Nutrition… Check out our options and join our community.

FIT FOR REAL LIFE!

Our Crucible program is both an upgrade to our BASIC Adult martial arts training as well as a stand alone program. 

This class teaches martial skills for FITNESS as well as solid FUNCTIONAL MOVEMENTS combined with ENDURANCE TRAINING. In other words, it uses real human body movements. 

We incorporate skills from Martial Arts, High Intensity Interval Training, Pilates, Tai Chi, TRX, & MORE! 

STRIKE

This class format is about using martial arts skills to develop SPEED, POWER, and ENDURANCE. Learn elements of Boxing, Kickboxing, Grappling, and Taekwondo for fitness. 

STRENGTH

This class focuses on quality compound movements meant to give you the most BANG for your buck! We work on the whole body holistically and not just the “mirror muscles”.  Body weight, resistance bands, TRX, & kettlebells are all used along with other methods. Train with others to help stay MOTIVATED to reach your personal GOALS!

SUPPLENESS

Don’t just move. Regain mobility and quality of movement. Tai Chi, Pilates, Yoga, and other mindful movements will help stiff joints and muscles recover their former mobility and make your overall quality of life better.
